A specialist HMO mortgage is a type mortgage that is available to HMO (house in multiple occupation) or multi-let properties. Unlike standard BTL mortgages, this type of financing solution allows you to let a property to multiple tenants. HMO Mortgage Criteria

HMO’s of 6 - 8 Bedroom:

  • Prior Landlord experience with BTL’s or smaller HMO’s preferred. Previous HMO experience of 6 – 8 Bed not required.
  • Private or SPV borrowing vehicle 
  • Max LTV 85% (or 100% with additional security)

 

HMO’s of over 8 Bedrooms:

  • Prior experience with HMO’s of over 6 Bedrooms. Preferably experience of successfully operating more than 1 year.
  • Or Previous Portfolio Landlord Experience with multiple properties.
  • Max LTV 85% (or 100% with additional security)
